The Tampa Bay Business Journal asked and you nominated — and now 60 local businesses and companies with a major local presence have been named the 2020 Best Places to Work honorees.
Employees from nominated companies were asked to fill out a confidential survey from Quantum Workplace measuring team effectiveness, retention risk, alignment with goals, trust with co-workers, individual contribution, manager effectiveness, trust in senior leaders, feeling valued, work engagement and people practices.
Companies were placed into four categories based on size:
- Small: 10 to 24 employees
- Medium: 25 to 49 employees
- Large: 50 to 99 employees
- Extra large: 100+ employees
Being named a Best Place to Work helps attract talent, and the survey provides employers with the feedback necessary to retain those key people.
Companies were required to have at least 10 employees to participate and have a workforce located in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Manatee, Sarasota, Polk (from Lakeland East), and Hernando counties. Both full-time and part-time employees were included in the survey. Seasonal, per diem, independent contractors, or consultants (including 1099 Real Estate Agents), temps, or partners/owners (with more than 5 percent ownership) were not eligible.
